In memory of my father, the beekeeper, this exhibition features wooden objects from his beekeeper’s hut, coated in red lacquer using the intricate urushi technique – as a reflection on slow ageing and weathering. An attempt to halt the transience of things. Sanding and polishing as a form of mourning.

Alongside a selection of lacquered bowls and decorative objects, further sculptures featuring beetle damage, cracks in the wood and other traces of nature are on display.
