THE TIMELESS GLOW OF LACQUER

Salomé Lippuner, a journey from tradition to innovation through Urushi lacquerware

On Thursday 14 December from 6pm

This exhibition, dedicated to Japanese lacquer Urushi is also the occasion to present the book dedicated to the lacquer jewelry of Salomé Lippuner, published by Gourcuff Gradenigo.

Thanks to the amazing adventure of Salomé, this book takes us to the sources of Urushi lacquer and its traditions. Jeweler and lacquerer, Salomé Lippuner knew very young that she would devote her life to spreading layers after layers of this mysterious material to contemplate its multiple facets. Her jewels, necklaces of lacquered pearls, sleeves and pendants are the reflection of both her improvisations and her know-how. Also initiated in the technique of architectural lacquer called Fuki Urushi, Salomé has also developed many collaborations with many designers and architects.

For this exhibition in Paris, Salomé collaborated with Sylvain Dubuisson and Sandra Carigliano to lacquer their elegant Crossed Legs armchair with Negoro red.
